Effect of host/vector system on the depletion of ferulic acid. Experiments were carried out with 4 g (wet weight)/L biomass grown to stationary
phase in LB medium. Resting cells of JM109(pFS) and JM109(pBB1) were incubated for
3 h in the presence of 0.5 mM ferulic acid and the depletion of the substrate was
determined by HPLC analysis.
